Pre-Conference Videos Available

Two new pre-conference videos are now available only to LEAP members on the LEAP members-only portion of the Smart Card Alliance website. Log in today to take advantage of these latest educational offerings:

  • “The Changing U.S. Payments Landscape: The Impact of EMV and Mobile on the Payments Acceptance Infrastructure,” an Educational Institute Workshop video from the 2014 Payments Summit. Included are video and slide presentations from the workshop.
  • “Federated Identity, Strong Authentication, NSTIC and the Identity Ecosystem,” an Educational Institute Workshop video from the 2013 Smart Card Alliance Government Conference. The video includes video and slide presentations from the workshop.

New Conference Presentations

LEAP members can now access exclusive conference presentations from the Smart Card Alliance 2013 Member Meeting, 2012 and 2013 Government Conference, 2012 and 2013 NFC Solution Summit, and the 2012 and 2013 Payments Summit. These presentations are available on the LEAP members-only site at http://www.securetechalliance.org/leap-educational-resources-presentations. Conference presentations cover a wide variety of topics and smart card applications including: cybersecurity, enterprise and government ID, healthcare, logical and physical access, NFC, payments, transportation, security and standards.

Welcome New CSCIP Recipients

Congratulations to the following individuals who received their CSCIP/Payment credential in the first quarter of 2014. By passing a rigorous exam, these individuals not only demonstrated proficiency in a broad range of industry knowledge, but also familiarity of EMV and EMV migration, mobile and NFC payments, and smart card use in card and account-based transit payment systems.

Certification Trainer Spotlight: Gilles Lisimaque

Gilles is one of a handful of professional certification trainers for the Smart Card Alliance, where he conducts day-long training and exam preparation classes prior to the administration of the CSCIP exam. Gilles is a partner with ID Technology Partners, a leading consulting firm in Washington, DC, supporting high assurance identification solutions. He has more than 25 years of experience developing smart card solutions, and has worked with most aspects of smart cards including chip design, manufacturing, packaging, operating system design, application development, international standards, reader interfaces, and host applications. Gilles received the 2008 Outstanding Smart Card Achievement (OSCA) Individual Leadership award from the Smart Card Alliance. He holds multiple patents on smart card security and smart card operating system design and has held high-level seats with smart card and security forums, associations and standards bodies including AFNOR, ANSI, ISO and ISTPA (International Security, Trust and Privacy).

Corporate Program

A reduced group rate cost for the LEAP/CSCIP professional development and smart card training program and exam is available for organizations who enroll 10 or more individuals. An organized, comprehensive training course and exam will be conducted at your corporate location. You can also partner with another company to reach the minimum number of participants.
