ASIS and PSP Credentials for CSEIP Professionals

Register for upcoming CSCIP training sessions in September, November and December. CSCIP is the smart card industry’s only standardized certification program that recognizes professionals who possess advanced levels of smart card industry knowledge and experience. Leadership, Education, and Advancement Program (LEAP) members who wish to achieve certification as experts in smart card technology may do so at any time. Breaking down CSCIP Certifications

  • CSCIP – a program that recognizes professionals who undergo training to gain advanced levels of technical knowledge and understanding of usage models for the smart card industry, and is the smart card industry’s only standardized certification program
  • CSCIP/Payments – an extension of CSCIP training that recognizes professionals who undergo training to gain advanced knowledge of payments usage models for the smart card industry
  • CSCIP/Government – an extension of CSCIP training that recognizes professionals who undergo training to gain advanced knowledge of government-related identity and security usage models for the smart card industry

The Smart Card Alliance National Center for Advanced Payments and Identity Security now has a dedicated website that lists in-person training and educational events including certification training, workshops, symposia and other programs. The facility was established by the Smart Card Alliance to provide a permanent, high-end facility for in-person training and educational events to help industry stakeholders better secure payments and identity applications. The National Center provides an ideal venue for workshops, courses, briefings and symposiums for the Smart Card Alliance and its 200-plus member companies as well as other industry stakeholders. At the National Center’s hands-on interactive lab, ongoing training and certification testing programs help educate new generations of payment and identity professionals. Located at 2900 Crystal Drive in Arlington, VA, it’s less than one mile Reagan National Airport, walking distance to a Metro stop, and just minutes from the Capital Beltway and downtown Washington, DC. Unless otherwise noted on the site, all training programs will take place at the National Center.

Registration Open for EMV Chargeback Best Practices Webinar

The U.S. Payments Forum has scheduled a webinar, EMV Chargeback Best Practices, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at 2pm ET/11am PT. The webinar will focus on the appropriate treatment and mitigation of both counterfeit and lost/stolen chip liability shift chargebacks occurring after the liability shift dates for contact chip cards used in attended transactions, and will discuss:

  • Issuer best practices for authorization and managing disputes
  • Merchant best practices for obtaining an authorization response and avoiding chargebacks – both for merchants who are chip-enabled and those who are not yet chip-enabled
  • Merchant and acquirer best practices for disputing and mitigating chargebacks
