Banco Del Bajio in Mexico Selects Gemalto’s Flexible Card Fulfillment Solution

Mexico City, Mexico, July 7, 2010–Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, today announced that its Allynis Instant Artwork solution has been selected by Banco Del Bajio, a leading financial institution for small and medium enterprises and the agricultural sector. This novel solution by Gemalto enables Banco Del Bajio
to order small quantities of smart payment cards with the artwork of their choosing, serving primarily customers who provide electronic payroll services. This selection extends Gemalto’s relationship with Banco Del Bajio, building on the success of the ongoing secure EMV bank cards programs.

Gemalto’s Instant Artwork solution solves common marketing challenges for banks like Banco Del Bajio by enabling them to offer a larger variety of banking cards without the constraint of minimum volumes. Banco Del Bajio can respond quickly to demand for customized cards by simply selecting a specified artwork and ordering any quantity of cards. Gemalto is able to quickly respond to the order and deliver the cards to Banco Del Bajio’s customers within 48 to 72 hours of order placement, increasing the bank’s competitiveness in the market.

“Our existing trusted relationship with Gemalto gave us the confidence to expand our use of the company’s innovative offerings with this solution,” said Manuel Duvignau López Portillo, Executive Manager of Issuance and Acquiring. “Gemalto’s solution helps us handle customized artwork and demand for smaller batches. We can now offer a broader portfolio of customized artwork cards, reinforcing our competitiveness in the market.”

“We are proud to support Banco Del Bajio in successfully deploying this innovative service,” added Eric
Megret-Dorne, Senior Vice President of Gemalto. “With our Allynis Instant Artwork, Banco Del Bajio has the ability to handle fluctuating card demand, providing for more control over their entire card management process, and allowing for customers to receive their card in record time.”
