Cambridge, MA., March 4, 2008–CoreStreet, the leader in credential validation solutions, announced that its CoreStreet PIVMAN™ Solution will be used as an integral part of the March 6 Winter Blast First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) usage demonstration, co-hosted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Office of National Capital Region Coordination (NCRC).

Winter Blast is focused on the healthcare and emergency responder industry’s adoption and implementation of the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201 interoperable First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) credentialing system. More specifically, the demonstration aims to familiarize the Federal and Mutual Aid medical communities with the National Preparedness Credentialing and Typing Model Standard Framework. The primary focus is the National Response Framework (NRF) Emergency Support Function (ESF) 8 “Public Health and Medical Services” for Federal and Mutual Aid emergency response officials. This includes the Emergency System for Advanced Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP) and other healthcare responders. The CoreStreet PIVMAN software for handheld devices and related backend servers will manage the credential validation and privilege attribution for nearly 200 participants of the Winter Blast demonstration.

CoreStreet personnel will oversee deployments of the CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution supporting Winter Blast exercises at the event’s headquarters at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial, Arlington, VA; The Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital and The George Washington University Hospital both Washington DC; Temple University Hospital and Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA; and, the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC) in San Antonio, TX.

The CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution consists of software for handheld devices and related server software designed to allow authorized personnel the ability to control access to any site with confidence by quickly authenticating and validating the roles and identities of individuals wishing to enter a secured area.
