Gemalto Digital Security Solutions Now ‘Citrix Ready’

Gemalto .NET and Protiva solutions work seamlessly with Citrix Systems products for secure and flexible access to applications and data

CITRIX SUMMIT 2007, ORLANDO, FL, January 29, 2007–Gemalto, a world leader in digital security, today announced that it is among the first companies whose products have met verification requirements for Citrix Systems, Inc’s new initiative, “Citrix Ready,” after undergoing rigorous testing for security, reliability and compatibility. This recognized product compatibility allows customers to access the Citrix Systems platform using Gemalto digital security solutions for an added layer of protection, while keeping the same flexibility and platform interoperability to which they are accustomed.

Participation in this initiative gives Gemalto the opportunity to provide its digital security solutions to Citrix Systems’ diverse customer base of more than 180,000 organizations worldwide, including the American Red Cross, Merrill Lynch and T-Mobile. These organizations use Citrix Systems products for access to software applications, personal computers, real-time collaboration tools and operations support systems.

“Our customers are increasingly concerned with challenges such as identity theft, fraud and regulatory compliance,” said David Jones, corporate vice president of business development, Citrix Systems, Inc. “Gemalto’s success in becoming ‘Citrix Ready’ offers our customers additional confidence in the quality of its digital security solutions to meet these specific needs.”

Current or potential customers can use a Gemalto .NET card or protiva™ device, personalized with all of their user information, to strongly authenticate themselves to Citrix Password Manager™ and Citrix Presentation Server™. Using Gemalto’s digital security technology to access the Citrix Systems platform provides customers with protection against sophisticated intrusion techniques and keeps personal and professional information secure.

For example, implementations of joint Gemalto and Citrix Systems solutions are underway in major hospitals in the United States. Hospital employees often experience frustration because they need to log on to multiple workstations and applications on a daily basis. The Gemalto and Citrix Systems solution addresses this challenge with a secure, reliable and easy-to-use way to log on to multiple workstations. Employees simply log on securely once in the morning, and then are able to work seamlessly throughout the hospital simply by inserting their Gemalto token into a reader. When they change locations, they simply pull out their token, suspending the session, and insert it into the next workstation reader. They are able to continue work exactly where they left off.

“With the addition of Gemalto’s leading digital identity solutions, everyday business tasks can be performed securely and conveniently, free from concerns over the loss of valuable information,” said Francois Lasnier, vice president and general manager of security for Gemalto North America. “The ‘Citrix Ready’ designation assures current and potential customers that our solutions work seamlessly with Citrix Systems’ products.”
