Gemalto Innovation Receives Sesames Award at CARTES in Asia 2011

Gemalto further demonstrates industry leadership with “Smart Badge Holder”

CARTES in Asia, Hong Kong, Mar 30, 2011–Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, continues to demonstrate its innovation leadership with the announcement that its Smart Badge Holder has won the Sesames Award at CARTES in Asia 2011.

The Sesames Awards granted in Europe and Asia each year celebrate the unique contribution and investment of leading industry players like Gemalto in developing next generation products and solutions for the digital age.

The smart badge holder

In a world where enterprises and their workforce are going more and more mobile, Gemalto’s smart badge holder enables the use of their corporate badge to provide secure logical access on mobile devices such as smartphones. By simply inserting their badge in the wireless Smart Badge Holder, corporate users will be able to access their encrypted e-mails and to sign their documents electronically from their smartphones in the same way they do on their desktop PC with a conventional wired card reader.

Enterprises will be able to leverage their existing corporate badges infrastructure and bring security to smartphones and tablet PCs.
