Gemalto new Strong Authentication Solutions presented at RSA Conference

Delivers enhanced security and superior convenience for Windows DirectAccess users

RSA Conference 2012, SAN FRANCISCO – Feb 27, 2012 – Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, will be demonstrating its broad range of strong authentication and one-time password (OTP) solutions, and the introduction of OTP login with Windows DirectAccess for remote and on-premise employees. The integrated security-enhanced solution will allow corporate users to securely logon to their network from a computing device running Windows 7 without the need for a conventional VPN.

Previous strong authentication solutions from the market for Windows DirectAccess required multiple logins–once to Windows and then again using an OTP to gain access to corporate assets. Gemalto’s innovative solution requires the user to only enter their OTP once, whether remotely or at the office, for access to their authorized corporate assets.

“Windows DirectAccess is a game-changer for enterprises and remote workers because it lets them use their corporate resources as transparently as they could if they were in the corporate office,” said Mike Schutz, senior director, Windows Server and Virtualization, at Microsoft Corp. “Gemalto has helped to take that ease a step further, by providing the convenience of a single logon to Windows 7 with strong authentication, through its Protiva SA’s standards-based OTP solution.”

“Gemalto’s strong authentication solutions for Windows DirectAccess streamline the way users within banking, government and healthcare environments and software developers securely connect,” said Tom Flynn, Vice President of Online Authentication at Gemalto North America. “Information security managers can now very simply deploy a multi-factor authentication solution for secure login at the office or on the go. This creates a protected, extremely user-friendly working environment and at the same time significantly reduces employer IT management and infrastructure costs.”

Gemalto will be demonstrating Strong Authentication for Windows DirectAccess as well as additional security solutions in its booth, #234, at RSA Conference 2012, Feb. 27 thru March 2, 2012.
