INSIDE Contactless Wins ACT Canada Lorne Boates Award

Association Award Recognizes Development of Outstanding Applications Using Advanced Card Technologies

AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, October 17, 2008–INSIDE Contactless, a leading provider of advanced, open-standard contactless chip technologies, today announced that the company was recognized by ACT Canada, a nonprofit stakeholders membership organization that serves as the authority on contactless technology in the Canadian market, as winner of its Lorne Boates Award. The award validates INSIDE’s role as a thought leader and innovator in contactless applications and its impact on the Canadian contactless market.

“INSIDE’s MicroPass® contactless payment platform has rapidly commanded a market-leading position in Canada, helping to create adoption momentum for contactless solutions,” said Catherine Johnston, president and CEO, ACT Canada. “The company’s committed efforts in meeting the need of Canadian bank card issuers and consumers made it a compelling choice for the Lorne Boates Award.”

The INSIDE MicroPass contactless platform was chosen by Canadian issuers and card manufacturers because it was fully certified, secure, and available in abundant quantities to meet aggressive time-to-market deadlines. Coupled with the platform’s proven performance in global markets, INSIDE MicroPass has emerged as the platform of choice for contactless payment in Canada. MicroPass platforms already power thousands of contactless consumer transactions in Canada’s grocery, restaurant, theater, gas stations, and retail outlets.

“We are delighted with the award and pleased to play such an integral role in Canada’s adoption of contactless technology,” said Kim Madore, vice president of sales and business development, Canada, for INSIDE Contactless. “As Canada continues its migration to EMV, we will continue to work closely with card issuers and other organizations to support their requirements and simplify convergence of EMV and other non-contactless applications.”

The ACT Lorne Boates Award was presented to INSIDE Contactless at ACT Canada’s Cardware 08: Securing Payment conference, held October 8-9 in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
