LaserCard Introduces New Smart Card ID Solutions

LaserCard’s Debuts Innovative Smart Card ID Platform at Cartes & Identification 2010, Paris, December 7 – 9

Mountain View, Calif. and Paris–December 6, 2010–LaserCard Corporation (NASDAQ:LCRD; http://www.lasercard.com), a leading provider of secure ID solutions, today announced the introduction of its new Smart Card ID platform designed to complement the Company’s optical security media offering or to be used in standalone mode in contact, contactless or dual interface chip configurations. LaserCard’s integrated Smart Card ID platform is designed to help partners improve the efficiency and reduce the complexity of delivering sophisticated secure ID projects.

LaserCard’s Smart Card ID platform has been designed to meet the requirements for compliance with the most exacting international standards, across a breadth of smart card applications, from government ID to driver license, healthcare and beyond. The platform leverages LaserCard’s extensive experience in delivering multi-technology, multi-functional secure ID programs for high-profile clients including the U.S. Permanent Resident Card, the Italian National Police Force ID Card (Carabinieri) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia National ID Card.

Highly secure, multi-functional ID systems are emerging as the cutting edge trend in ID solutions and are attracting increased interest from governments worldwide. This move is being driven by the growing need to combine a range of uses with the best attributes of today’s secure ID credentials: high security, durability and ease of authentication.

“Our continuous innovation programs are focused on ensuring that we offer our partners and customers the most advanced, high performance, reliable secure ID credentials available today,” said Robert DeVincenzi, president and CEO of LaserCard Corporation. “Many of our key government programs specify chip technologies combined with our own optical security media.
