LaserCard Spotlights Innovation, Deployments and Partner Ecosystem at Cartes & IDentification 2010, Paris, December 7 – 9

User Reference Programs Illustrate Today’s Solutions and Tomorrow’s Innovations in Advanced ID Credential Programs

Mountain View, Calif., Nov 29, 2010–LaserCard Corporation (NASDAQ:LCRD; http://www.lasercard.com), a leading provider of secure ID solutions, will showcase major ID credential deployments at Cartes & IDentification 2010 conference and exhibition in Paris, December 7–9. LaserCard will use real-world examples demonstrating how advanced technologies, innovative manufacturing approaches, expert consulting services and a global partner base combine to address the most complex ID requirements. Demonstration stations will cover the positive impact of the solution for the country, the client and the credential holder. LaserCard will exhibit at Booth #N 080.

Increasing demand for powerful ID solutions incorporating optimal security and durability, together with high functionality, adds a new dimension of intricacy to ID credentialing programs. To illustrate how complex projects can be navigated to a successful conclusion, on time and on budget, LaserCard will feature a number of recent programs that have delivered significant results in terms of technology, execution and innovation.

These include:

  • The new U.S. Green Card, the first combination of LaserCard’s Optical Security Media (OSM) and RFID tag, innovative visual security features, and strong industry partnerships delivering one of the world’s most powerful ID solutions. The program was judged the world’s leading government ID card in terms of technology and user utility in a July, 2010 report by analyst firm Frost & Sullivan and continues to deliver a never exceeded standard for uncompromised security in an application still relevant after more than 12 years.

  • The Costa Rica Foreign Resident Card, demonstrating the delivery of an end-to-end solution from design to issuance, leveraging OSM to deliver a tamperproof and counterfeit-resistant solution that is also ICAO-compliant.

  • The Saudi Arabia National Identity Card, a continually evolving nationwide program featuring both contact chip and OSM technology to provide advanced technology, durability, data capacity and flexibility to deliver the maximum return on investment.

  • Several programs in Italy including the Carabinieri (Italian National Police Force) ID Card, incorporating OSM and two chip technologies. The credential also serves as a citizen ID and provides secure access to key facilities and e-government services – a single secure ID credential replacing multiple legacy documents–with watertight security and fraud resistance.

  • The Angola National Identity Card, modeled after the U.S. Green Card, and now being rolled out to the country’s 20 million citizens, even in the most remote rural areas. The cards are useable even where electronic readers are not available incorporating eye-visible authentication and security features for reliable visual examination.

Partner Ecosystem

LaserCard works with a wide base of marketing, distribution and industrial partners to deliver some of the most advanced, secure and innovative credential programs in the world. The exhibit will pay tribute to the key contribution made by these partners.

“The success of any large-scale ID program depends on a complex matrix of expertise, resources, technology, planning and execution in which our partners are key players,” said Robert DeVincenzi, president and chief executive officer of LaserCard. “Our channel partners around the world are instrumental in securing and executing major programs on behalf of our customers.”

Technology Innovations

Growing momentum in multi-technology programs underscores the industry’s recognition that innovative combinations of technologies, rather than individual solutions, will solve the challenges and requirements of tomorrow’s credentialing programs. At the Innovation Station, LaserCard will showcase technology advances, including cards with dual interface chips, ICAO-compliant contactless cards, and new Optical Security Media visual security features.
