Myrtle Beach International Airport Chooses AMAG Technology and OnSSI to Secure Airport

Torrance, CA, October 7, 2010–Myrtle Beach International Airport, a full-service airport that serves over 1.5 million travelers each year to and from one of the most popular golfing destinations in the United States, has chosen AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Enterprise Security Management System and intelligent field hardware, integrated with OnSSI’s NetDVMS video management system. Myrtle Beach International Airport is one of the first airports in the southeastern United States to install an all digital security system.

The Symmetry and NetDVMS IP-centric integration provides an easy to use and flexible video solution for the airport. Operating via Symmetry’s customized virtual matrix screen, security officers view continuous live video that provides immediate knowledge to make quick, informed decisions. Powerful investigation tools allow users to view activity by event, from any wired or wireless camera, anywhere, providing enhanced security.

The integration makes the system readily and easily expandable, as the Symmetry/NetDVMS integration supports Myrtle Beach Airport’s 80+ IP cameras. Video is recorded and securely archived to the video server which has approximately 22 terabytes of video storage to accommodate 30 days of activity.

“The integration between AMAG’s Symmetry and OnSSI’s NetDVMS provides the security staff additional functionality ensuring a more secure airport,” said AMAG Technology, Vice President of North American Sales, Mike Taylor. “It’s easy to use and offers the airport flexibility with the choice of cameras and the ability to easily manage video within the integrated security management system.”

“As security systems grow increasingly complex, more efficient and intuitive solutions like this one in Myrtle Beach become more vital to ensuring that a system accomplishes its goals,” said Gadi Piran, President and CTO of OnSSI. “This type of seamless integration makes sure that a system will address not only the complexities of today’s needs for airport security, but of tomorrow’s as well.”

Myrtle Beach Airport implemented an extensive identity verification system to ensure the proper individuals gain access to restricted areas. AMAG’s Symmetry Threat Level Manager provides an easy, secure way to change the security threat level of the airport that aligns with the threat levels issued by the Office of Homeland Security. TLM provides a fast way to isolate threats.
