nCryptone, in partnership with InCard Technologies, announces the nC DisplayCard

Boulogne-Billancourt, the 8th November 2005–nCryptone announces the nC DisplayCard, an authentication device with a dynamic password which is embedded into a thin and flexible credit card format which fits into a wallet.

The announcement of this new product is based on a partnership between nCryptone and InCard Technologies (InCard), an American company committed to Visa International by a mutual exclusive agreement for financial cards with power inside.

Thanks to its recognized expertise in developing credit card format tokens which utilize embedded power, nCryptone is broadening its range of tokens by announcing the release of the nC DisplayCard. By integrating a battery, a flexible screen, a crypto processor and a release button into an ISO 7810/11 card format, nCryptone has developed an ultra-portable authentication device which displays a dynamic password of 6 or 8 digits. By pressing on the button a new dynamic password is generated. The user then enters this password on his terminal (computer, telephone, PDA…), followed by a PIN code. This two factor authentication provides for a very high level of security and counterfeiting of the device is extremely difficult due to the embedding of electronic components, and the unique structure of the card.

The algorithm used in the nC DisplayCard is the one promoted by the OATH consortium, which nCryptone is a coordinator member. It has an open platform which can be customized with any algorithm. This new offer meets the needs to strengthen the security of online information exchanges, for e-banking as well as for access to corporate information systems.

Conceived, developed and marketed in partnership with InCard, the nC DisplayCard falls under the mutual exclusive agreement which commits InCard to Visa International, for the design and the distribution of financial powered embedded ISO cards in the banking world. The nC DisplayCard can be embossed and can appear as a multi component card, which can also integrate a magnetic stripe and an EMV chip.

“These announcements constitute a major event for the development of our company”, declares Cyril Lalo, CEO of nCryptone. “We are launching a particularly innovating product, and, in parallel, we are reinforcing our partnerships to accelerate its distribution. The market of the nC DisplayCard has already been recognized in the world, and according to a recent study of Frost and Sullivan, a volume of 248.1 million dollars, which should reach 1.171 billion dollars in 2011. Our product has an exceptional asset: the ISO credit card format.”
