New Datacard® ID Solution Meets Mobile Identification and Card Issuance Needs
Software provides remote identity information capture to speed enrollment and eliminate bottlenecks at issuance locations
New Orleans, LA, September 15, 2003–Datacard Group demonstrated a new mobile identity solution today at the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Conference & Exhibition that enables the remote capture and verification of identity information. New Datacard® ID Works® mobile software allows users to capture identity information using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), then transmit data securely to a central location for database storage, identity authentication or batch production of ID cards.
ID Works mobile software allows casinos, cruise ships, resorts and other entertainment venues to quickly collect enrollment information from customers and eliminate long lines. Colleges, universities and schools can use the new solution to reduce congestion at student ID stations during peak enrollment periods. Corporations, government agencies and other organizations with multiple facilities can use ID Works mobile software to bring speed and cost-savings to their ID card programs.
“This new solution makes it easy to issue ID cards to widespread populations,” said Mike Schnaus, vice president of marketing and corporate development for Datacard Group. “Central card issuance works for some card programs, but many organizations find it difficult to get all cardholders in one place for data capture and card production. Also, many consumer marketers and educational institutions do not want to create bottlenecks at enrollment or card issuance locations.
“ID Works mobile software provides a cost-effective solution for these types of applications,” Schnaus said. “The software is affordable, easy to use and is compatible with most existing digital photo ID systems.”
ID Works mobile software is part of the popular Datacard® ID Works® identification software product family, a favored solution for corporate and government ID programs worldwide. “ID Works mobile software is a new offering, but builds off of the performance of our full featured product,” Schnaus said.
