TSYS Named to The Civic 50 for Second Consecutive Year
Company recognized for commitment to community by Bloomberg and Points of Light
Columbus, Ga., December 8, 2014 — TSYS (NYSE: TSS) announced today its recognition as one of America’s most community-minded companies in The Civic 50, an initiative that identifies and recognizes companies for their commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where they do business. The survey was conducted by Bloomberg LP in partnership with Points of Light, the nation’s definitive experts on civic engagement.
“It is an extreme honor for TSYS to receive this award for the second year in a row by The Civic 50,” said M. Troy Woods, president and chief executive officer, TSYS. “Giving back to the communities where we operate is of utmost importance to us both as a company, and as individuals. We have a long standing culture of service and a corps of team members committed to making a difference in the world. This honor is an indication that our efforts have a powerful impact on the people we serve.”
“Corporate civic engagement is on the rise and it’s being led by the forward-thinking businesses included on The Civic 50 list,” said Neil Bush, chairman of Points of Light. “The correlation that their efforts showcase between community engagement and employee retention, productivity and overall bottom-line benefits continues to prove that businesses that do good also do well. We congratulate this year’s Civic 50 and we hope that they continue to inspire greater investments in improving communities through corporate civic engagement.”
The Civic 50 survey was developed under the guidance of an academic panel of nine experts from leading universities throughout the country. The survey evaluates companies based on several criteria, including how extensively and strategically resources are applied to community engagement, and how a community engagement program supports business interests and integrates into business functions.
True Impact, a company specializing in helping organizations maximize and measure their social and business value, administered the survey.
