Ottawa, March 8, 2005–Alacris® Inc., a leading developer of certificate management and identity assurance software products, today announced its planned commitment to support the U.S. Federal Government’s Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Federal Information Processing Standards 201 (FIPS 201). HSPD-12 is a mandated U.S. Presidential directive to establish a common identification standard for all Federal Government employees and contractors. FIPS 201 was subsequently developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to satisfy the Personal Identity Verification requirements of HSPD-12.
