Let’s celebrate National Smart Card Industry Recognition Month

May is a month that we recognize many significant events and contributions. Some of the most notable include May Day, Mother’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Memorial Day. Some lesser known recognitions in May are Mother Goose Day, World Turtle Day, and Whale Awareness Day (in the state of Massachusetts only). So, since these less notable recognitions can have a day, I am going to declare the entire month of May for something much more significant–National Smart Card Industry Recognition Month.

The Smart Card Alliance has had a regular tradition of awarding the annual Outstanding Smart Card Achievement Awards (OSCAs) in the month of May. During our 2010 Annual Conference last week, the Smart Card Alliance recognized three organizations and one individual for the 2010 OSCA awards. Nominations for these awards were voluntarily submitted by individuals and organizations and judged by an independent jury of industry and media experts. Read more…
