Gemalto Supports ING’s Setting Up in Poland with Personalization Services

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Sept 4, 2008–Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, today announces it has been selected by ING Bank Slaski as supplier of a bundled solution that includes notably local personalization services as well as high-end EMV cards. The package also comprises value-added services such as tailored cards and advanced packaging. ING Bank Slaski is part of the ING Group, one of the 20 largest financial institutions worldwide. The initiative is aimed at providing ING with turnkey solutions when implementing new technologies or SEPA* compliant cards in a high-growth country like Poland. By partnering with Gemalto, the bank complements its expertise in the personalization area in order to deliver a comprehensive service offering. ING Bank Slaski started issuing EMV banking cards in December 2007.

As part of the contract, Gemalto supplies ING Bank Slaski with Dynamic Data Authentication EMV cards personalized at its Polish facility, located in Tczew. The Gemalto personalization center provides ING Bank Slaski with a broad range of services including card stock management, card personalization and fulfillment. The facility also ensures a high level of delivery service: 24 hours turn-around time for a new card, the very same day for an emergency request. In addition, it provides innovative services such as banking cards customized with a personal picture, printing text on the magnetic stripe and advanced packaging.
