Gemalto Winner of 2008 Tomorrow’s Technology Today Award From Info Security Products Guide

Smart Enterprise Guardian Wins Personal Portable Security Devices (PPSD) Category

AUSTIN, Texas, May 20, 2008–Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, has received the 2008 Tomorrow’s Technology Today Award for its Smart Enterprise Guardian (SEG), the company announced today. Silicon Valley-based Info Security Products Guide named Gemalto the winner in the Personal Portable Security Devices (PPSD) category. The SEG is a unique, multi-function USB device jointly developed by Gemalto and leading semiconductor solutions provider Lexar.

“To get this recognition in the new Personal Portable Security Devices (PPSD) category is particularly exciting,” said Jerome Denis, marketing director for Identity Access Management, Gemalto. “The SEG is an ideal example of a PPSD. This single PIN protected USB device takes advantage of the highest levels of security that smart cards provide, delivering two-factor authentication, email encryption, digital signature, portable encrypted Flash and hard disk encryption.

“SEG also makes it easy to implement and deploy strong network security. Our customers like the option to start quickly with simple one time password and then move to PKI using the same device. And it is all plug and play compatible with standard Microsoft operating and network software, so it does not require any middleware in the PC,” said Denis.

“Our goal with the 2008 Tomorrow’s Technology Today Award is to recognize security leaders like Gemalto that are bringing advanced, ground-breaking network security solutions to the market and setting the bar higher for others in digital security,” said Rake Narang, editor-in-chief, Info Security Products Guide.
