Digital Identification Solutions presents new Card Personalization Suite at CeBIT 2009 in Hanover

Stuttgart, Germany, February 25, 2009 – Digital Identification Solutions AG, a worldwide leader of identification solutions, launches at the CeBIT exhibition in Hanover, Germany, the EDIsecure® Card Personalization Suite (CPS), a newly developed print management middle-ware software for comfortable and user-friendly handling of different hardware modules.

At booth no. B25, Hall 11, the German-based Digital Identification Solutions Group presents a newly developed EDIsecure® Card Personalization Suite which contains a set of modules for user-friendly and dynamic configuration of printer hardware and peripherals. Its architecture is based on the previous experiences and design-concepts of the EDIsecure® XID Printer Drivers, but is now a completely new developed middle-ware software with a whole modular design. The CPS is now far more than a conventional printer driver. It offers a full range of distinct functional modules.

The EDIsecure® Card Personalization Suite consists of an administration center module, the central point for the management of hardware peripherals, convenient status and error monitoring, the lower level printer drivers for various hardware types, as well as Advanced Intelligent Printer Management (Advanced IPM) for high capacity production and the powerful Advanced Chip Encoding Framework (Advanced CEF). Different hardware modules, such as any of the EDIsecure® XID 5xxie Printer Series and even the EDIsecure® LCP 9000 Laser Color Personalization System, can be fully controlled through this state-of-the art printer middle-ware software, due to its unique plug-in architecture. The modular concept enables fast and easy integration of further hardware modules in the forthcoming future.

The CPS allows the operation of the EDIsecure® XID Printers in different modes: Ethernet, USB or a mixture of both. Due to its great flexibility, a quick adaption to new printer generations and new personalization solutions, such as the spectacular EDIsecure® HPT (Holographic Personalization Technology) will be possible. The printer middle-ware software can be flexibly expanded and provides for different improved as well as newly developed features such as scalable user interface for unlimited print management. Due to the new feature “intelligent load balancing” all print jobs will be distributed equally to the printers within a defined print group.

At the moment all EDIsecure® XID 5xxie and XID 93xx Printer Series as well as the EDIsecure® LCP 9000 system can be managed with this innovative EDIsecure® Card Personalization Suite.

One element of the EDIsecure® Card Personalization Suite is the EDIsecure® Advanced Chip Encoding Framework, a powerful EDIsecure® XID Printer Series based toolkit for ID application independent inline encoding of various chip technologies. The Advanced CEF provides the integration of several encoding technologies in the EDIsecure® XID Printer environment by an easy to use plug-in technology.

Advanced Intelligent Printer Management (Advanced IPM) is another software module which is part of the powerful CPS. Advanced IPM allows the connection of up to seven units of EDIsecure® XID 590ie or XID 9330 Retransfer Printers to one print server under USB for high- capacity card production (up to 840 cards per hour). Due to the parallel workflow, an unrivalled level of system availability is achieved. Print jobs and the accompanying encoding data are routed securely to the correct printer, even in a distributed network environment. Under Ethernet conditions, even an unlimited number of these retransfer printers can be kept busy at the same time, therefore giving the users an unparalleled performance and output scalability.

For the first time ever the comprehensive EDIsecure® Card Personalization Suite will be shown at CeBIT Hanover in an Advanced IPM configuration.
