Passenger Vessel Association and Watermark Cruises Select CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution

Senture Security Solutions and CoreStreet Provide Handheld TWIC Reader Solution to Support TSA TWIC Reader Pilot Test

Cambridge, Massachussetts. and Chesapeake, Virginia, August 11, 2009 – CoreStreet, the leader in credential validation solutions, and Senture Security Solutions, LLC, a full service security solutions integrator, today announced that the Passenger Vessel Association (PVA) selected them to provide the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) handheld solution for Watermark Cruise’s participation in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) TWIC card reader pilot test.

The TWIC Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for TWIC card readers was issued on March 26, 2009. As required by Section 104 of the SAFE Port Act, the card reader pilot test will help inform the requirements of the pending TWIC second phase rule related to TWIC readers and local TWIC access control requirements.

“Based on our analysis of PVA’s unique maritime security and business requirements, Senture selected the CoreStreet PIVMAN software solution running on the DAP CE3240B handheld reader,” said Christopher Deaton, President and CEO of Senture. “The combined CoreStreet–DAP solution offers unique functionality for mobile authentication and validation of TWIC identity credentials.”

The CoreStreet PIVMAN for TWIC Solution enables TSA-approved mobile devices to verify the identity of TWIC card holders. CoreStreet Enabled™ TWIC readers are synchronized with the authoritative source for this information, the TSA TWIC hotlist. By having this secured data resident on mobile devices, roving operators have the ability to determine if the TWIC credential is still valid.

“Based on their depth of regulatory and technical expertise, PVA selected Senture to help carry out its important security obligations under the Maritime Transportation Security Act and to help PVA conduct a comprehensive evaluation of TWIC handheld readers for our member companies,” said Beth Gedney, Director, Safety, Security and Risk Management, PVA.

“The CoreStreet PIVMAN Suite can furthermore be expanded to also support First Responder Authentication Credentials as well as PIV and DoD CAC cards. Our ability to combine status and off-card attributes–even in lights-out and comms-out situations–enables critical decision making even in worst case scenarios,” said John Bys, Executive Vice President, CoreStreet. “Working together with experienced partners such as Senture allows us to take a leadership position in securing some of the nation’s critical maritime infrastructures.”
