The solution is designed to help NFC service providers move from pilots and trials to commercial launches targeting millions of users.

ViVOtech has been working with Sun Microsystems to bring a scalable solution for Near Field Communications (NFC) mobile payment and promotions to market. The result is ViVOnfc Suite 2.8- a solution that includes NFC wallet and OTA card provisioning software. The suite enables the entire ecosystem of Mobile Network Operators (MNO), Trusted Service Managers (TSM), card issuers, merchants, and marketing services companies to securely provision and manage payment cards, coupons and tickets on NFC-enabled handsets.

ViVOnfc 2.8’s unique dual server architecture ensures that issuers will maintain the security of their card data and leverage the widest possible reach over the mobile carrier network. Card issuers, merchants, and transit operators are now able to extend their brand image and online services to their customers’ mobile devices. Simultaneously, mobile carriers are able to deploy highly scalable and reliable infrastructure to support payment, promotion, and ticketing applications for their subscriber base. ViVOnfc Issuer Server–The Issuer Server resides on-site–either at the issuer’s or at the outsourced partner’s location–providing secure card provisioning services for NFC mobile handsets. This allows the issuer to maintain full possession and control of the card data they wish to relay to their customers’ mobile handsets.

ViVOnfc Control Server–The Control Server resides either at the mobile operator or at the Trusted Service Manager (TSM) premises, providing administrative services to facilitate multiple payment, loyalty, and promotion applications through an embedded or SIM-based secure element on a mobile payment device.
ViVOwallet®–The ViVOwallet application runs on NFC mobile phones, enabling multiple payment-related applications managing secure data, allowing secure contactless payment transactions. The ViVOwallet provides the interface for provisioning data to the mobile device, as well as transmitting payment card or coupon information directly to POS terminals equipped with a contactless reader.
