The new relationship will enable HID resellers to provide customers with a complete solution for both physical and logical access using a single card.

Raak’s solution supports HID’s dual-interface SMARTS program cards, which combine HID’s proven RFID technologies with powerful smart card chips from various contact smart card suppliers. The solution also includes RaakSign, Raak’s comprehensive cryptographic middleware package, smart card readers, and deployment services: everything a customer needs to enable strong authentication security for Network Logon, VPN, Citrix®, Web Access, WLAN, E-mail and a wide variety of other applications.

Raak Technologies’ solution is available for multiple platforms including Windows, Mac-OSX, Linux and PocketPC and supports a large selection of smart card modules from a wide range of smart card vendors.

Raak’s relationship with HID will provide HID resellers with an incremental resource on the logical access side which will give the resellers the opportunity to deliver a combined physical and logical access solution. In short, Raak will be a value added resource to HID resellers that will enable HID resellers to provide all of the elements needed to deliver a multi-function card solution.

“As an HID partner, Raak will be able to team with HID resellers to deliver a complete physical and logical access solution,” said Dan Cunningham, President & CEO of Raak. “Our relationship with HID is strategically positioned to address the accelerating convergence of physical and logical access in the security industry,” he added.

About HID Corporation

As the largest manufacturer of contactless access control readers and cards for the security industry, HID has shipped over 200 million credentials to customers worldwide. HID pioneered the development of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for physical access control. Proximity and iCLASS® technologies can be housed on the same credential and combined with other technologies such as magnetic stripe, barcode, or contact smart chip modules. This provides users the ability to leverage their investment in existing systems while seamlessly upgrading to new technologies and adding new applications. For increased security, users can add a photo ID or anti-counterfeiting element such as a hologram or ultraviolet ink. HID’s experience in developing card technologies enables them to play a critical role in the evolution and adoption of contactless smart card technology used for applications such as access control, IT secure authentication, digital cash, the storage of biometric templates, and the storage and retrieval of critical information.
